A 10-year warranty is included on the work performed by Broad Ripple Sewer and Water.

This warranty is void for issues arising from putting oil / grease, coffee grounds, “flushable” wipes, tampons, condoms, socks, rags, or any other damaging item down the drains, or doing physical damage to the lines by activities such as digging, damage from vehicles or lawnmowers, planting trees or other plants that cause damage with roots, or any other damaging actions.

The warranty is for the address, not the owner.

The warranty includes parts and labor, for the section that Broad Ripple Sewer and Water installed, for issues arising from something related to the installation (i.e., not related to anything previously listed).

Question that we have been asked:

Q:   If you do a spot repair, will you warranty the original sewer line as well?

A:   No, we will not warranty a sewer line that was installed by another company at some point in the past 100 years.  We provide a warranty for the work that we do, and only the work that we do.  If you want your entire sewer lateral covered under our warranty, then have us replace your entire sewer lateral.

In the over 20 years that we have been repairing and installing sewers, have we ever been called back out to a home that we had repaired or replaced the sewer line on?

A: Yes.  Please see the below events that led us to being called back out.

  • We did a spot repair on the sewer line (in the yard), and the homeowner called us back because his kitchen sink was not draining.  The fact that all other water-using appliances were working normally and it was only the kitchen sink that wasn't draining is a good indication that it is not the sewer, it is the kitchen sink.  What was the issue?  He had been pouring grease down the kitchen sink.

No, our warranty does not cover you pouring grease down the drain.

  • We installed a new sewer line and the homeowner called us back out at about 9pm that same night because her sewer was backing up.  When we got there, we began pulling children's toys out of the line.  What was the issue?  Her toddler was flushing their toys down the toilet.

No, our warranty does not cover your child flushing

things down the toilet that should not go down the toilet.

  • Many, many times we have been called out several weeks or months after doing spot repairs or installing new sewers, and when we get there we begin pulling out "flushable" wipes and/or tampons.  This has happened too many times to count.

No, our warranty does not cover a sewer backing up because items that

should not be flushed down the toilet are causing a problem.

Nothing other than toilet paper should ever go down the drains.

If you have rental properties, tell your tenants to never flush "flushable" wipes!

  • We have been called out because a sewer was backing up because neighborhood kids thought it was fun to open clean-out tops and put rocks down the clean-outs of nearby homes.

Sorry if your neighbors' kids are jerks, but our warranty does not cover that.

We do offer steel clean-out tops that are sunk just below grade, and therefore

out of sight (and mind), and are more difficult to open, so if you are worried about

something like the above taking place, you may want to have us install steel clean-out tops.

  • After massive rain storms we get inundated with calls about water backing up into homes.

During heavy rainstorms, there may be more rain than the City's sewer system

can handle at one time.  If you are hooked up to the City's waste water system,

and something goes wrong at the City level, no, our warranty does not cover that.

  • We have been called out because people have driven their car over their clean-out, breaking the clean-out and damaging their lateral.

No, our warranty does not cover this type of damage to the lateral.
We do offer steel clean-out tops that are sunk just below grade

and will allow for such things as lawnmowers or vehicles driving over them.

You may want to have us install steel clean-out tops.

If you are having a problem, we recommend you have R&S (https://www.randssewercleaning.com) come out and determine what the problem is.  If it is determined that something went wrong with our repair / replacement, we will cover all parts and labor to fix the issue and cover the R&S inspection fee as well . . . but, as what is most likely going to be found, is a scenario as described above, and we charge a whole lot more to come out and determine the issue than R&S charges.  If it is clogged with "flushable" wipes, tampons, socks, grease, or something else, R&S can clear those clogs for you for far less than we would charge.

Let us dig up your yard.
